We're Ready to Hit the Road!

Our travel buddies are ready to hit the road and discover America!
Here's J.J.(short for John James) and Monroe, two from our gang of six travel buddies, eagerly awaiting departure on their first trip!
They decide to make a few last minute stops before heading out. First, they stopped by the office and greeted visitors coming into our school. Next, they went to the principal's office. Sitting at her desk made them feel very important! The pair also made a stop in our school library media center to read about some of the states they might be visiting.

Check back often to follow the adventures of our travel buddies as they meet new friends and learn about our wonderful United States of America! They will be heading out very soon!

Instructions for Travel Buddy Hosts

We are so excited to see where our travel buddies go and learn about their adventures visiting with you!

Once your travel buddy arrives, his next adventure is up to you! This can range from visiting local landmarks to visiting grandma. Please keep a travel log and remember to take some photos(digital is best) of the travel buddy. We'd love it if you included a photo of you & the travel buddy together! After a short stay(no longer than a week, please) you will send the travel buddy on to his next destination. This information will be included in the package along w/the travel buddy.

If you have submitted your email, you will be invited to be a member of this blog. Once you agree, you will be able to submit your buddy's travel log & photos directly to the blog. It's a very simple process and will allow our students to keep up with our buddies in a more timely fashion!

If you do not wish to submit via the blog, you may email travel log and photos to: kellie.cotton@hopkins.kyschools.us

If you are unable to email, please include a travel log and photos in the package along w/the travel buddy.

Travel Log Items to Include
  • Your name/city/state
  • One or two interesting facts about your city and/or state
  • Tell us what the travel buddy did or saw while he was visiting you.
  • Take photos of the travel buddy. Please try to limit to 3 photos if possible.

Again, thank you so much for hosting our travel buddies!

If you are not currently hosting, but would like to have one of our buddies come for a visit, please contact kellie.cotton@hopkins.kyschools.us or stacey.burns@hopkins.kyschools.us
